Denver have a winning history against other tournament entries (Terminal City, Kansas City, Tampa this season, and Minnesota in the last), beaten only by Gotham and Rat City.

They are in fact the team with the most experience playing this whole tournament selection, and are likely to come in forewarned and forearmed, accordingly. They have played consistently across the months of this season, and are likely to enter appropriately warmed-up.

Their 7-5 season, featuring losses to Gotham, Texas, Bay Area (twice) and Angel City suggests that they are not quite the nigh-unstoppable force they once were–but make no mistake, even with some huge retirements and transfers out of late–most notably the mid-season losses of Jes Rivas and Shaina Serelson–the Denver Roller Dolls Mile High Club is still a force to be reckoned with.

Chances are, their opponents in this game, Santa Cruz Derby Girls, will wish they had the same advantage–their last sanctioned play was in a very tough weekend at Angel City’s tournament, Pac Destruction, in June.

They went 0-3 that weekend, and lost 192-154 against current tournament #4 seed, Rat City, among others. But their persistent game play and indefatigable style are likely to make this a game to watch carefully, nonetheless.
