FORT WAYNE, IN–Ohio made a game of things for the first 25 minutes as they exploited Denver jammer penalties–but an 82-1 run for Denver either side of half time and an 83-4 run in the second period either side of another jammer penalty ensured the Mile High Club took the tournament victory with ease, 304-134.
FORT WAYNE, IN — For the third time in the last three years, London and Montreal faced off in the WFTDA playoffs — but for the first time, the contest was in the tournament’s third-place game, putting a guaranteed berth in the WFTDA Championships on the line. Montreal managed to play a considerably cleaner and tighter game than they had in their semifinal loss to Ohio on Saturday, but they were also up against a tougher opponent; London earned their first trip to Champs with tough, smart defense powering a 230-129 win.
FORT WAYNE, IN–The consolation bracket final was contested by Rose City and Arch Rival, with both teams looking to salvage something from a weekend they were hoping would finish with a medal and ticket to Milwaukee.
FORT WAYNE, IN — Sunday’s battle for 7th place between 7th-seeded Wasatch and 8th-seeded Cincinnati was a relatively tight contest for the first 20 minutes, but Wasatch completely took over at that point. A half-spanning 132-6 run for Wasatch put the game far out of reach; with Wasatch’s 275-95 win, both teams ended up playing to seed.
FORT WAYNE, IN–When Grand Raggidy and Bleeding Heartland met in April, the Flatliners took the win 215-176 to level the all-time series between the teams at 1-1. Bleeding Heartland took an early lead–but Grand Raggidy held the lead at half time, and eventually secured the win 186-134 after a disciplined final few minutes of gameplay.
