KALAMAZOO, MI–Carolina lost star jammer Sheeza Freak to knee injury in yesterday’s bout against Tri-City, but it didn’t stop them turning in a dominating performance against a penalty-prone Burning River side. They ran up a 147-75 halftime lead and while scoring slowed for both sides in the second half, the ratio remained about the same: by the final whistle, Carolina had taken the win–and 7th place–with 250 points to Burning River’s 131.

KALAMAZOO, MI–Fighting for the right to play for fifth were Cleveland’s Burning River and Appleton’s Paper Valley. The Wisconsin team led for all but the opening jams and a three-jam stretch in the second period that saw four lead changes–and they took the win 163-144.

D2K: Burning River Lights Up Queen City, 197-163

KALAMAZOO, MI–As in yesterday’s match-up against Killamazoo, a Queen City victory seemed within reach–and often within a single jam–through much of their game against Burning River. However, a big jam for Cleveland’s Sugalumps late in the second period established a 30-point margin that Queen City were never able to close and Burning River took the win, 197-163.
