FORT WAYNE, IN — MRDA #8 Twin Cities, ranked two slots below Pioneer Valley in the MRDA, kept their momentum from a very strong second half against MRDA #9 Harm City earlier in the day and put up the first upset of Spring Roll in dominant fashion, upending Pioneer Valley 219-99 to quickly build an argument for inclusion in the MRDA top 6.

TUCSON, AZ — April 13-15 marks the fifth Dust Devil Tournament – the latest edition of the one that started it all in 2006. Feburary 2006’s Dust Devil was the first ever national flat-track derby tournament, in which Texas defeated Tucson in the final to become the first team to lay a defensible claim to a national championship; in 2007, Dust Devil became the Western Regional playoffs, where Rat City defeated Tucson in the final before going on to lose to Kansas City in the championship game of the first WFTDA Nationals. Ever since, the Dust Devil has been a standalone invitational event outside of the WFTDA playoff structure.

Big O: Sac City Surprises Pikes Peak, 181-149

EUGENE, OR — Frequent lead changes and jammers often playing musical chairs in the penalty box made this one a neck and neck game, but in the end apprentice WFTDA league Sac City defeated established Pikes Peak (#18W) in a game much closer than the final score implied, 181-149.

Big O: Terminal City Stifles Pikes Peak, 194-94

EUGENE, OR — Terminal City (Vancouver, BC) took over early in their matchup with Pikes Peak (Colorado Springs, CO) at the Big O and dropped exactly 100 points of victory margin on them in a 194-94 final on Saturday.
