Welcome, slightly belatedly, to the 2014/15 regular season!

D1FW 7th: (7) Wasatch Shuts Down (8) Cincinnati, 275-95

FORT WAYNE, IN — Sunday’s battle for 7th place between 7th-seeded Wasatch and 8th-seeded Cincinnati was a relatively tight contest for the first 20 minutes, but Wasatch completely took over at that point. A half-spanning 132-6 run for Wasatch put the game far out of reach; with Wasatch’s 275-95 win, both teams ended up playing to seed.

FORT WAYNE, IN — The final game of Saturday playoff action in Fort Wayne found 7th seed Wasatch going up against 3rd seed Arch Rival in a game to determine who’d advance to the 5th place game against Rose City on Sunday. While Wasatch trailed for all but a few seconds of the bout, they seemed to be one or two big jams away from the lead for nearly the whole game. Arch Rival’s hard-nosed defense — and some hard-to-handle jamming from Brickyard — refused to ever let those one or two jams happen, though, and Arch Rival finally pulled away for good in the last 7 minutes to win solidly, 235-154.

D1FW: (2) Montreal Seasons (7) Wasatch, 188-159

FORT WAYNE, IN–In game five, Montreal looked to break a three-year losing run of opening playoff games against a Wasatch team still buzzing after thrashing Grand Raggidy earlier in the day. Wasatch led for almost the entire first half and periods in the second–but just didn’t have the legs to seal the deal. Ill-timed power jams buried Wasatch in the end and Montreal secured their place in tomorrow’s semifinals with a 188-159 win.
